Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel musician popularly known for her hit song “Igwe”. She was born in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers state of Nigeria.
Chinwo started to sing at a very tender age of 8 years in the children’s choir in her church, and in 2012 she won season 2 of the Nigeria Idol.

Mercy started her early elementary education at Godswill international school after that she went to Victory Comprehensive College. She finally to Paradise international school where she graduated and obtained WAEC.

Just before she went fully into music, Mercy started as an actress. She became so popular when she won season 2 of the renowned acting competition Nigerian Idol in 2012.
In 2013, she featured in her first ever movie titled “House of Gold”. The movie was directed by Yvonne Nelson and starred other celebrities like Yvonne Nelson herself, Majid Michel, and Omawumi. Mercy also did many works with notable Nigerian gospel music musicians including Sammie Okposo, Buchi, Joe Praize, Chris Morgan, etc.
In 2017, Ezekiel ThankGod’s EeZee Concepts signed her to their Christian Recording Label. there he released her first single, Testimony, in 2015 and Igwe followed next in 2016. Her debut studio album came into the limelight in 2018 and she titled it “The cross my Gaze”.
Chinwo has also worked with some reputable International musicians. Her popular song “Excess Love” has gotten remixes and featured on many Christian Dj mixes.
