The Nigerian fabulous Nollywood actress, Sharon Ooja Egwurube was born in the 90s into a family of six. She is an indigene of the Idoma tribe, Benue State, and became prominent through a web series, “Skinny Girl in Transit“

Sharon Ooja was born on 6th April 1991 in Kaduna State, North Central Nigeria, and was raised alongside her five siblings in the capital of Plateau State, Jos.

Her acting professional acting career began when she played her first minor role in Gidi Up. The movie got her fair share of stardom when she played the flawless role of ‘shalewa’ in the web series. “Skinny girls in Transit” is a soapie that came out in 2015. She got her the stereotyped name, ‘Shalewa’.

With massive support from her parents, her mum especially, who is in the entertainment industry herself, and her dad gives her complimentary calls and support.

After that breakthrough in her acting career, she had since then been cast into major roles such as playing Amaka in King of boys, flatmates, and Jennifer’s Diary. Sharon mentioned big celebrities like Mo Abudu, Funky Akindele Bello, Shaffy Bello, and Ngozi Nwosu as people she looked up to in the industry. 

She hosted the GTBank Fashion Week Red Carpet alongside Timini Egbuson in 2017. Whilst planning to launch her fashion and hairline alongside advocating for Girl Children through boot camps.
