How To Be Free From The Spirit Of Lust As A Christian
We all know How to be free from the spirit of lust as a Christian, to win the war on lust is not an easy task, every believer needs to be conscious of the fact that we all have to fight in order to overcome lust.
Lust does not respect you. It does not respect your last name, your title, your calling in life, your ethnicity, your background, or your position in society. Lust does not care who you are.
Lust is something we all have to deal with. As long as we are in the flesh, we will have to keep fighting against lust. If we realize this, we stand a better chance of living victoriously over the sin of lust.
These are some provided strategies for you to win the war against lust, let’s take them one after the other
Strategy 1: Flee Or Run, Don’t Just WaitÂ
Time and time again, the word of God instructs us to flee lust, Flee from all youthful lusts. Follow righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
1st Corinthians 6 vs 8 says, flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body. But whoever sins sexually sins against their own body. Have you ever noticed how the Bible does not tell you to flee the devil, but it tells you to flee lust?
That should tell you something about lust. Lust will cloud your judgment. Lust will destroy you. Lust will break up your home. Lust will destroy your health.
Why would the Bible tell you to wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness, but then instruct us to flee lust?
What Lust Can Bring Into Your Life
Lust is not to be played with, if the Bible commands us to flee from a thing, then it means that is the safest escape route from being victims of it. To some people, when you run from something, they assume or conclude that you are a coward. But that is not always true.

Don’t wait for any other signal before you take to your heel, it is wise to flee from lust. Fleeing in this sense is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. There is a great lesson to learn from the life of Joseph when it comes to fleeing from lust, especially when it has to do with sexual temptation.
And he left his garment in her hand and fled and got him out, Joseph left his garment in his mistress’s hand. He fled and got out, he ran.
He fled for his life, you can never escape or get out of lust until you have learned the strategy of fleeing. Have you noticed that the Bible tells us to wrestle with the devil and that he will flee from us? But the same Bible tells us to flee lust. Isn’t that interesting?
You can’t wrestle with lust because it will beat you every time. We are to fight the devil, but we are to run from lust. Yes, you may be able to pray and set the devil on the run, but do you know there is a good time to run too? And it is when lust knocks at your door.
The mistake many believers are making is that they do not understand that prayer will not do what fleeing will do.
Strategy 2: Don’t Trust Yourself Or Your Self Control
Proverbs 3 vs 7 says, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not into thine own understanding in all thy ways.
Acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths, Â Be not wise in thine own eyes. Fear the Lord and depart from evil. The Bible said trust in the Lord and trusting in the Lord is listening and obeying his word, our flesh is too weak to be trusted.
If you trust your own flesh, it will fail you woefully. How many times has your self-control failed you in the past? Don’t trust yourself, don’t trust your ability to say no.
Remove Yourself From The Situation
We cannot trust in our ability to withstand certain tests, it is true that self-control has a great part to play in dealing with certain sins. But we must not build our trust in ourselves or in our self-control if we want to overcome the battle against lust. Many people think that their self-control will be able to keep them from falling and that is wrong.Â
In conclusion
Lust does not need a week for you to make one bad decision. You may have overcome lust for 30 years, but lust is patient. It waits and waits until everything is perfect to make you fall.
Those who think they are standing can fall if they do not heed God’s instruction. The passage added that God will always make a way of escape from every temptation.
