Folu Adeboye and Enoch Adeboye married on December 17, 1967. He has four children from his marriage (three sons and one daughter) and countless grandchildren. On May 4, 2021, Pastor Enoch Adeboye lost his son Dare Adeboye, whom died at the age of 42.

Enoch Adejare Adeboye was enrolled in Ilesha Grammar School in Ilesha, Osun State in 1956. Enoch Adejare Adeboye then attended the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in Nsukka, but completed his first degree at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) after the Nigerian civil war with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1967. In the same year he married Foluke Adenike . They share four children: Adeolu Adeboye, Bolu Adubi (née Adeboye), DareAdeboye and Leke Adeboye. In 1969 he received a Master of Science in Fluid Dynamics from the University of Lagos. In 1975 he received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University. He is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos.

Adejare Adeboye joined the Redemed Christian Church of God in 1973 and worked as an interpreter before being ordained as a pastor by Pa. Josiah Akindayomi in 1975. In 1981, he was appointed as the church’s General Overseer. [11] He worked part-time at Unilorin for three years before leaving to preach full-time.

The church, which was unknown before Adeboye became General Overseer, today has branches in 196 countries, with over 14,000,000 followers in Nigeria.

Adeboye has indicated that he hopes to have a church within five minutes walking distance in emerging areas and five minutes driving distance in developed cities.

Pastor Adeboye resigned as General Overseer in 2017 as a result of new regulations that limited non-profit leadership to 20 years of service and being under the age of 70. (still the general overseer up till date). Adeboye’s organization donated eight dialysis machines, as well as a reverse osmosis medical water purification system and an electricity generator, to Wuse District Hospital in honor of his 80th birthday in 2022.

In 2002, he was given the key to the city of Detroit, Michigan.
2005 – Honorary citizenship and the key to Dallas, Texas, USA.
2005 – Awarded honorary citizenship and the key to the city of Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States.
