Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is one of Nigeria’s most well-known and powerful religious leaders, as well as the pastor of Christ Embassy, one of the world’s largest Christian congregations.

Personal life

Oyakhilome was born in Edo State, Nigeria, on December 7, 1963, to Elder T.E and Angelina Oyakhilome.

Oyakhilome married Anita Ebhodaghe in 1991. They were parents to two girls. Anita Ebodaghe filed for divorce at the Central Family Court in London on April 9, 2014.

They chose to share custody of their two children after their divorce. After 25 years of marriage, they divorced in February 2016[18] due to “Unreasonable Behavior.” Sharon Oyakhilome, Oyakhilome’s first daughter, married Phillip Frimpong, a Ghanaian guy, on October 6, 2018, with her mother apparently absent.

Forbes estimated Oyakhilome’s personal wealth to be between $30 million and $50 million in 2011.

Controversies

The marriage declaration made by Oyakhilome has sparked debate. On social media, Nigerians have chastised him for his religious beliefs on gender equality.

His television network Loveworld was fined £125,000 by British broadcast regulators Ofcom in March 2021 for violating broadcasting rules by airing “inaccurate and potentially damaging representations regarding coronavirus.”
