Well, always follow your heart, or gut. If you really feel hatred towards your job or employer, it’s pretty obvious you shouldn’t be working there anymore.

Signs that it is time to quit your job
- You despise going to work
A bit of tension or anticipation is great for resuming work on a Monday. But do you go to sleep at night dreading the next day you have to report at work? If this is how you feel most of the time, you just might as well put in your two weeks’ notice.
- You delay/postpone work
If there’s something we all have in common, it’s the ability to procrastinate on occasion. Your day-to-day work should be engaging, and if you don’t find it so, maybe you need to work another position.
- When it affects your health
Are you beginning to take more sick days off? Or are you taking as much time off as you can get? If you’re working way too many hours and have no time to exercise, eat healthy, or sleep, all because of your job, you should consider quitting.
- You complain too much
In your most common conversations with friends and family members, are you constantly complaining about colleagues, your workplace, or your job itself? If you find yourself venting all the time, it means that your job delivers little or no satisfaction.
- You’re overqualified
Sometimes, to make ends meet, we take jobs that are “below us”. If your current job is not up to par with your qualifications or skillset, keep looking out for better positions. Do not accept feeling stuck, and find a better job you’re qualified for.
- No visible growth
Avoid job positions or work that do not offer opportunities for growth. If you are investing time and energy to a company that does not really support the progress of your career, maybe you should consider quitting. The development of your career in the long run is important.
- Negative work space
If it’s hard to feel happy or content at your workplace, it means such an environment may as well be toxic. Consider the attitude of your co-workers and boss, if it’s consistently unhappy, or pessimistic, you may need a different work environment.
- When the company culture doesn’t work for you
Perhaps you’ve always wanted a flexible schedule where you can work remotely, but right now, you have a regular nine-to-five job. No matter how much you may adjust to other benefits of the job, you may never find satisfaction at that job. This, of course, affects your performance at your job, and self-sense of achievement.
At work, you should feel confident and comfortable enough to share a thought, voice your opinion and express yourself. If you also find yourself justifying your job to yourself or others, while you actually know the cons outweigh the pros, it might be time to quit that job.
