Early life
Ayo Oritsejafor was born in Lagos, Nigeria on November 10, to Mr. Joseph Monday Oritsejafor and Mrs. Roli Durojaiye Oritsejafor. His mother is a devout Christ Apostolic Church member (CAC).
Oritsejafor was “born again” in 1972 during an evangelical crusade in Sapele, Nigeria. Oritsejafor is a student at the All Nations For Christ Bible Institute in Benin, Nigeria.
Papa Ayo Oritsejafo went on to study at the Nigerian Baptist Seminary, Ogbomosho in Oyo State, Nigeria, before moving to the United States in 1979 to study at Morris Cerullo’s School of Ministry (El Cortez), San Diego, California.
According to him, he had a vision of himself wearing a suit and speaking to thousands of people, and he heard a voice say to him, “This is what you are going to be doing for the rest of your life,” and the voice stated, “Take my word for it.”
This was the first idea that inspired the establishment of the Word of Life Bible Church (WLBC) in Nov 1987. He is the host of the 1980s television show Hour of Deliverance.
Oritsejafor attributes his success in ministry to the influence of God-given mentors such as Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Dr. Morris Cerullo, Evangelist Robert W. Schamback, and Evangelist Tommy L. Osborn, among many others.
Oritsejafor believes in leading by example.
This is obvious in his participation in bringing the Nigerian Niger Delta issue to a close.
