There are grievous punishments for Apostasy, these punishments are given to Apostate offenders these include states abolition of his or her marriage, can also be punished by death, seizure of properties of offenders even his or her children.
Is Apostasy A Sin To Be Forgiven For?
Yes, it is a forgivable sin but on the condition that you return as quickly as possible to repent and confess your faith back and then return to God finally.
If one refused to answer to this condition it’s a sin punishable by death.
The Fallen angels went out of the way of God, an act of Apostasy. It is also an act of blasphemy in the Islamic religion.
Muslims can kill anyone if they are caught in the act of blasphemy or an act of Apostasy.
What Can Lead To Apostasy?
When someone has accepted Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Saviour, he is reconciled to God and a new being is bestowed on him or her, and a Father-son or Father-daughter relationship is guaranteed between God and the Christian brother and sister.
The causes of apostasy are those circumstances that break the Father-son or Father-daughter bonds that exist between God and the Christian person by causing a Christian to renounce their faith, embrace confounded doctrines, take a wrong course of salvation, or divert their commitment to another item or the subject of worship.
So some causes of apostasy are; Loving yourself more than Jesus, ignorance of Christ, making friends with the world and not with Christ, keeping bad company, bearing bad fruits, not being able to advise your children when they are going astray but instead supporting them, greed, gluttony, etc
How To Avoid Apostasy
Avoiding it is one important thing we all must do, it’s important as acquiring salvation. It should be one of our primary priorities for every Christian to avoid.
There are so many ways to avoid apostasy, you can avoid this sin by first accepting Christ into your life, you must learn to love others just the way you love yourself because it’s been said that love superseded all commandments of God, Delete from your mind of all false doctrines you have adopted.
Always study the Bible to see whether every doctrine or law you have embraced is supported by the word of God.
